The Dwarves are renowned in Valon as artillerists of distinction and none more so than Henrich Blindenbuogar. He had served in the Ferkelartillerie train which was attached to Mordred's Grande Armee du Norde in the failed Witchlands campaign. During the campaign, Blindenbuogar, like many of his comrades was afflicted by snow blindness which continued to affect his sight, long after his return to Krautia where he was invalided out of the army.

Blindenbuogar's prospects were bleak and his army pension barely enough to put food in his belly, let alone beer and a roof over his head. After attempting begging (only to find that his countrymen were thriftier than a Rat's Sporran), he turned to petty theft, then a full blown career in crime. The Dwarf soon fell in with Obidiah's band.
